When ON, the sourcing pipeline (dataset fetch + profile scraper) short-circuits to a local fixture — no Bright Data calls, no spend. Switching to LIVE starts incurring per-record charges (USD $250 monthly minimum).
What is sample mode?
Sample mode lets the sourcing features (saved searches, scans, enrichment, conversion) run end-to-end against a versioned fixture instead of the paid Bright Data APIs — so the catalogue + diff + conversion flows are testable without spend. Defaults ON in every environment until an operator explicitly switches to live. Every change is audit-logged.
Account status
Untested — run a connection test to verify the Bright Data key. In sample mode the test checks the harness only; no live call is made.
